Space Monkey Films was invited to a fulfillment center ran by GXO logistics in Southern California to help introduce their partnership with Dexterity Robotics, a Bay Area based company leading the way for AI-driven warehouse robots.
“Dexterity reached out to us 4 days before the shoot asking if we could make it happen. With short notice, we loaded up our gear and headed down I-5.”
Colby, Pilot
Dexterity Robotics reached out to us with a tight time table, asking if we could capture a corporate interview style video with a Space Monkey twist. They reached out to us because of our ability to capture drone footage, as well as traditional ground camera footage.
We were super excited for this opportunity to showcase all of our skills in one short form video. For this shoot we brought out all the tools we have in our bag, from indoor FPV drones to full interview capture setup with lighting and sound equipment. Our goal was to capture as much content as we could in a day to show off the Dexterity robot in action inside the warehouse.
“The video got great feedback from both our side and GXO’s side” – Rose Yang, Dexterity
With not much to work with in terms of spaces to perform an interview (the office was just finished being built and wa san empty room), we feel that we made the most of the area we were given and used some creative tricks to improve lighting and reduce sound pollution from the warehouse. We utilized our gopros to capture some interesting angles of the robot in action, which turned out great.
We also were granted permission to fly our drones inside the warehouse, which gave us the ability to capture some really unique angles of the robot. The client really loved these shots. These in tandem with our custom javelin rig for ground cam sealed the deal for a very happy client in the end.
